In 1964 the late Don Townsend started out on his own with just a small van and a box of tools, offering agricultural and general engineering services to the local community. Over the years this has evolved into a small group of companies now run by Don’s two sons, Andrew and Paul.
Townsend Engineering, run by Paul, offers the same agricultural and general engineering services, but now steel fabrication is a large part of the business.
Townsend Bearing and Transmission Ltd, run by Andrew, also incorporates Townsend Radiator Services and Townsend Shot Blasting.
This site is centred around our Blast Cleaning business and it’s links to the surrounding area and local people.
Many of the jobs we take on are general, day to day, domestic and industrial jobs, however somtimes we get involved in interesting and relevant restoration projects.
Over the years many of our customers have become good friends, and some of them have kindly contributed to this site by allowing us to include details of their various projects that we’ve assisted with.
This site is a work in progress and, aswell as being an advert for us, we hope it will eventually become a vast source of information on local restoration projects, clubs and societies, and be a showcase for the many talented people involved in them.
We hope that you enjoy browsing the site as much as we do putting it together.
With many years of experience in blasting a vast array of items, you can be sure that we can advise you on the right solution for your project.
